Monday Coffee Club: Dearborn’s First Local Drive-Thru Coffee Shop

At the heart of West Downtown Dearborn, a new coffee experience is brewing. Monday Coffee Club, founded by local entrepreneur Jad Alab, has officially opened its doors—and its drive-thru window—offering customers a modern, fresh, and convenient way to start their day.

Why “Monday”?

Jad explains that the name came from the universal feeling many share: “Monday comes around, and you need something to pick you back up.” With specialty drinks and sandwiches featured on Mondays, the café aims to flip the usual Monday blues into something customers can look forward to.

Early Mornings, Fresh Starts

Opening at 6:00 a.m., Monday Coffee Club fills a gap in the local scene, since many nearby cafés don’t open until later in the morning. The goal is simple: to give commuters, professionals, and parents the chance to grab a fresh pastry, bagel, or coffee without delay. “A lot of people, especially moms with young kids, need the convenience of a drive-thru,” Jad shares.

First Local Drive-Thru in Dearborn

The shop proudly holds the title of being the first local drive-thru coffee shop in Dearborn. What sets it apart is not only convenience but also quality:

  • Bagels are picked up daily.

  • Coffee is roasted locally.

  • Orders are always made fresh when the customer arrives.

The building itself was transformed from an old restaurant into a modern coffee hub, thanks to Jad’s vision and partnership opportunities.

From Coffee Truck to Coffee Club

Before launching the shop, Jad experimented with a coffee truck during Ramadan festivals under the name Empresso Espresso. While challenging to manage alongside other business ventures, the experience gave him valuable insight into coffee catering—something he continues today for weddings and events.

A Community-Centered Vision

Located at 23440 Michigan Avenue, Monday Coffee Club welcomes customers to dine in or use the drive-thru. While the team is still fine-tuning speed of service, freshness remains a top priority. Jad sums it up: “We don’t prep ahead of time. Everything is made when you order, because coffee is meant to be enjoyed fresh.”

With Monday Coffee Club now open, Dearborn has gained not just another café, but a new local story of entrepreneurship, resilience, and community connection.
